JoAnn Lee Grant (Kreamer), 79, of Western Springs, Illinois, ascended to her heavenly home on March 13, 2015. She was born September 16, 1935 in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of the late Louis and Clara Kreamer. Beloved wife of Uhl Edward Grant for 46 years; loving mother of Kristi L. Wehn (Grant) and Jason U. Grant; cherished grandmother of Katie, RJ, Jacob, Cameron and Meghan Wehn. Once receiving her Bachelor’s of Education Degree from the University of Toledo in 1960 she relocated to Chicago to teach elementary school where in the fall of ’63 she met her husband at a tall person singles mixer hosted at The Chicago Yacht Club. They were married in JoAnn’s hometown on July 18, 1964. Shortly after marriage, JoAnn & Uhl moved to the Chicago suburb of LaGrange Park where she compassionately taught 3rd & 4th grade at Forest Road Elementary School. Upon the arrival of her daughter in 1971, JoAnn used this gift to be a loving stay at home mother. She continued, however, to use her eloquence and skill of teaching to honor Christ, teaching Sunday school programs both in her home and at church. JoAnn’s passion for this calling led her to become the Superintendent of the Sunday school programs at LaGrange Bible Church for over 20 years. In addition, JoAnn selflessly gave of her time to local non-profits, volunteering at LaGrange Community Nurses Resale Shop and delivering Meals-On-Wheels to those that were disadvantaged. Because of her steadfast faith, her long time prayer request was answered in ’85 with a beautiful resort style home. The Grant Family dedicated this home to the Lord and used it for His purpose. JoAnn and her family housed hundreds of traveling pastors, missionaries, Christian businessmen, authors, musicians and speakers who shared their love of Christ. The Grant home was also the venue for countless church dinners, banquets, receptions and youth group activities. Her devotion to the word of God motivated her to always put the needs of others before her own. She has touched many lives, saved several souls and will be terribly missed here on earth. Her children rejoice that she is now in Heaven with her loving Savior and adoring husband! Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, March 19th, 2015 starting at 4pm with a memorial service at 7pm at LaGrange Bible Church, 850 7th Avenue, LaGrange, IL. In lieu of flowers please send donations to: LaGrange Bible Church in LaGrange, IL, Bible Related Ministries in Hinsdale, IL and Camp Forest Springs in Westboro, WI, all of which she and her husband were involved in.
