Larry Russell Mills, age 72, beloved husband of the late Diane nee Brown; loving father of Kurt (Amanda) Mills, Stacy (William) Pernell, Kent (Heather) Mills, and Morgan Mills, dear grandfather of Adam, Austin, Brett, Ryan, Trevor, and Ashley; brother of Allan (Christine) Mills; uncle of Kate (David) Schuster; son of the late Esther and late Russell Mills; loving companion of Karen Greene; former spouse of Kendra Mills. One of his great loves was golf. He spent the majority of his weekends on the course surrounded by friends and family. If he was not on the golf course, he was in the kitchen cooking one of his famous dishes. Larry was known for his outgoing personality, storytelling, and his passionate drive for his career (he was a proud member of the Mid-West Fastener Association). Larry was always thinking of those important in his life and he had an overwhelming love for those close to him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and will forever be a part of our lives. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Funeral Info: 708-352-6500
How the years have passed. I remember January of 1967 at Universal Screw. The snow storm was brutal and I had no car. Larry drove me home to Skokie, 5 miles. This took 2 hours. Many years later after I moved to California and did I find him again. This was at a fasteners show in Las Vegas. We seemed to pick up as though it was yesterday. I am so sorry that we didn’t get together more often than once a year. I am so sorry for your loss. He will be missed by many and I am glad that I am able to call him a friend. He will stay in my memory and thoughts.
