Donald E. Goss, age 84, of Western Springs, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2015. Poppy, as he was affectionately known to his grandchildren, was born and raised in Chicago. Loving husband of 61 wonderful years to Kay (nee Hesson) and proud father of William (Brenda) Goss, Donna (Gilbert) Salazar, Thomas (Aimee) Goss, Robert (Leslie) Goss, Marilee (Steve) Laurencell, Donald Jr (Jill) Goss. Cherished grandfather of Anneka, Kimberly, Mark, Jay, William Jr., Stephanie, Alexandra, Michael, Daynen, Hailey, Mitchell and Adelynn. Dear brother of the late Richard (the late Elaine), fond Uncle of Todd, Scott, and Michelle. Don was a loyal alumnus of University of Illinois and an avid Illini football fan for over 50 years. His career with Ernst & Young (Arthur Young & Co.) spanned 37 years, until his retirement as 1990, culminating as vice-chairman and regional managing partner. He served as Trustee of Illinois Institute of Technology beginning in 1982, as well as the chairman of the audit committee and a member of the board of governors for IITRI beginning in 1985. He served as director of Alion Science and Technology Corp. from May 2002 to September 2009. Mr. Goss also served on the Finance Council and as chair of the audit committee for the Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago, beginning in 1985. Mr. Goss also served as a member of the audit committee of the Chicago Zoological Society at Brookfield Zoo since 1998.
