Marilyn A. RyanMarilyn A. Ryan, nee Hirsch, of Indian Head Park, formerly of LaGrange and South Shore. Beloved wife of the late Robert. Loving daughter of the late Madeline and the late Frank Hirsch. Wonderful mom to the late Robert “Bobby,” Gary (Fran), Richard (Joann), Nancy and Joan (Ed) O’Brien. Loving and proud grandma to Rob (Ann), Megan (Mike) Lane, Patrick (Vicky) Ryan, and Eric, Alex and Connor O’Brien. Dear great-grandma to Rachael and Jack. Loving sister to the late John (Susanne) Hirsch. Fond aunt to many. Marilyn graduated from Aquinas High School and attended Northwestern University. She met her husband Bob before the war and while overseas, flying for the Air Force in WWII, he named his plane “My Marilyn.” They married in 1947 and later moved to LaGrange to raise their 5 children. They were married for 31 years until his passing in 1978. She worked for Mills Specialties in LaGrange for 35 years. Marilyn loved getting together with family, traveling and dinners with friends. She enjoyed her 31 years at Wilshire Green, especially Clubhouse cocktail parties, sunning at the outdoor pool and meeting so many new friends. Visitation 3 to 9pm Wednesday, Sept. 2nd at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Prayers 9:15am Thursday, Sept. 3rd at the funeral home to St. Cletus Church, LaGrange for Mass at 10am. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Good Shepherd Manor, P.O. Box 260, Momence, IL 60954 appreciated.     Marge and I are saddened to hear of the death of your mom. Your parents knew mine, as my brother, Tom, also was among the earliest arrivals at Momence. No matter how old or sick they may be, parents are hard to lose. We both lost our parents years ago, but we think of them all the time.

    Unfortunately, we will miss your Mom’s wake and funeral. We are in New York on a trip planned well before we learned of Marge’s cancer. Your family is and will be in our thoughts and prayers.
