Joyce Violet Vileta Matousek died peacefully on March 8 at her home in La Grange Park, IL, at age 92.
A remarkable woman, Joyce was a lovely, strong wife and mother. She rejoins Ed, her beloved husband of 72 years, who passed away January 11. Joyce is survived by her children and their spouses, Jill and Stephen Turner, Lynn and Stephen Gambill, and Mark Matousek and Melinda Paterson; eight grandchildren (Chris Gambill and Christiana Gambill, Leigh Gambill Montwill, and Phillip Montwill, Erik Matousek, Michael Matousek, Elysia Turner Leuchelt and Cassandra Turner); and two great grandchildren (Gavin Gambill and Garrett Gambill).
Born in Chicago, Joyce graduated from Morton High School. She worked in marketing at Lucien Lelong and Carson’s before having children. Later she was co-owner and head of marketing for the High Country Inn in Winter Park, CO.
An avid enthusiast of golf, tennis and bridge, she found great joy in the happiness of her family and friends, a caring that never let go. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and joie de vivre.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 13, 2016, at 11 am in Dole Hall at Plymouth Place, 315 N. La Grange Rd, La Grange Park, IL. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
