Catherine M. Becker, known as Kay, our beloved mother and mother-in-law, passed away during the early morning hours of Saturday, July 9, 2016. She was 96 years young. Anyone who wishes to share the family’s  grieving should not send flowers, but is encouraged to make his/her donation to the Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148.

Recently, Kay was asked what she and her husband had seen happen in their lifetimes that amazed them the most – was it the automobile, telephone, space travel, or what?  She quickly answered that those were wonderful things, but most amazing was the guy who took a small plastic bottle, filled it with plain water, and sold it for two dollars.

Kay leaves behind three sons, their respective spouses, one granddaughter, and one great granddaughter, all  of whom are grateful and thankful for having shared in her life.

May we all have that sense of humor if and when we reach the age of 96.
