Donald G. Hime, 93, of LaGrange, IL peacefully passed away on October 22. Beloved husband of Louise Hime; loving father of Dr. Linda Hime (Dr. Tim Kabot) of Libertyville, IL, Karen (Edward) Auer of Indian Head Park, IL, and Donna Hime (Mark Townsend); grandfather of Kendra and Alisa Schotzko (Dana Townsend), and great-grandfather of Owen and Henry Townsend, all of Moscow, ID. Don was a U.S. Army Veteran, Retired Lt. Colonel, serving in the U.S. Army’s 84th Infantry Division, Field Artillery, in the Battle of the Bulge. Born in 1923 at Hinsdale Hospital to George and Grace Hime of LaGrange, he was a lifelong LaGrange resident, Northwestern University graduate, and a retired Corporate Accountant. Don enjoyed life-long interests in photography, music, electronics, automobiles, travel, art, history, fine wood-working, fishing, hiking, and backpacking. He will be deeply missed by his family and everyone who knew him. Services will be private. Interment in Bronswood Cemetery, Oakbrook.
