Allen F. McGuire, age 73, of Willowbrook. US Army Veteran, 54th Infantry / Vietnam War. Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient. Loving father of Kristine (late Tom) McLean, Sean (Marlo) McGuire and Gail McGuire. Devoted grandfather of Gabriel, Breanna, Connor and Calista. Devoted brother of Thomas and Robert. Dear uncle to many. Former husband of Carol. Allen was preceded in death by his siblings James, Lawrence, Florence, Mary Ellen and John. Visitation 3-9pm Wednesday Dec. 28th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 301 75th St., Downers Grove. Prayers 9:15am Thursday Dec. 29th to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church for Funeral Mass at 10am. Dearest Uncle Al, you did good! You raised a family of incredible children and devoted grand-kids. You left behind so many people, both friends and family that loved you so much as to be hurting as much as we all are now in your absence. You left a legacy of love and served as such an amazing role-model and care-taker to so many. Your absence will leave a huge hole in the hearts and lives of so many; your memory will live in my heart forever. You were so much more then just an uncle, Uncle Al, thank you for being you and for caring as much as you did. I think most of us, when it is our time, will only hope to make as big of an impact as you did in the short-ish time you were here. I love you Uncle Allen!
