Alvin Frisque, born in Luxemburg township to Henry L. and Angeline (Thayse) Frisque January 27,1923 died on January 18, 2017 at Brookdale Skilled Care in Lisle, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie, of 58 years. He had spent most of his work career at Nalco Chemical in Chicago from which he retired in 1985. He had been vice president for research and development from 1969 and director of technology at his retirement. In the early 1970’s, he led a Nalco team that developed a water polymer technology still in wide use today. Some 50 patents were issued to team members. In 1942, after completing his sophomore year at the University of Wisconsin, he joined the Army Air Corps and had flown 13 missions as a B-26 copilot when the war ended in 1945. After World War Two, he received his PHD from the University of Wisconsin after which he worked for Standard Oil of Indiana for several years before joining Nalco. He had been a member of The Bascom Hill Society, Who’s Who in America, and a past trustee of the Illinois Benedictine College. He is survived by two daughters, Susan Rose (Gerard) and Alice Hitzman (Thomas); grandchildren Anne Rose Barz (Robert), Paul Rose (Alicia), Heidi Laurila (Jay), Ryan Hitzman and Paige Hitzman; great grandchildren Jonathan Robert Barz, Abigail Rose Barz, Emma Therese Barz, Natalie Nicole Rose, Peyton Gerard Rose, and Claire Margaret Laurila. An endowed scholarship he established in 1999 from the Luxemburg-Casco High School to the University of Wisconsin in Madison will continue.
