Frederick L. Sager, 89, passed away at home on February 21, 2017.  Fred was predeceased by his parents, George and Anna, his brother, George, and sons, Frederick, Jr. and Keith.  He is survived by his wife, Maureen, brother, Wayne, and sons, Gary and Scott, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Fred enlisted in the U. S. Navy right out of high school and served in the Pacific toward the end of World War II.   After the war he followed his father into the tunnel construction business, working on tunnel projects on the East Coast, California and Alexandria, Egypt.

Fred was loved and respected by many and will be sorely missed.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 26 , from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Hallowell  & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th  Street, Countryside. Prayers will begin on Monday, February 27,  at 9:15 a.m. from the Chapel and proceed to St. Cletus Church in LaGrange,  where Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will Military Honors will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Folds of Honor, an organization that provides scholarships to the children of wounded military veterans.  Folds of Honor Foundation, 5800 N.
