Michael Edward McNamara, 79, long time resident of Western Springs, IL passed away on Monday, Dec 11, 2017.  Mr. McNamara was born in Chicago, IL to Michael Joseph and Ann Josephine (Boyle) McNamara.  He attended St. Phillip’s High School and earned a BS in Accounting from Roosevelt University.  He served in the United States Marine Corps before beginning his professional career as an auditor for Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Co.  In 1969 he embarked on a 25 year career with the Schwinn Bicycle Company that culminated with his promotion to Chief Financial Officer.  He retired in 2013 after finishing his professional career within the NY State Department of taxation.

Mr. McNamara was preceded in death by his beloved wife Josephine (Maiden).  He is survived by his children Michael J. (Madelyn), Jennifer (Michael) McGinn, and Brian (Colleen).   Devoted grandfather of Michael E., Patrick and Grace McNamara, Clare, Julia, Maeve, and John McGinn, Aisling, Keira, and Liam McNamara.  Dear brother of the late Margaret Nielsen, Pat McNamara (John Romancik), the late Bernadette (Joseph) Campion, Theresa (Norfie) Diciolla, and Shelia (the late James) Bies.  Visitation Thursday, December 14 at 8:30am until Mass of Christian burial at 9:45am, St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, Western Springs.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1801 S.
