Cherie Hands, age 67, passed away on January 9th, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, and daughter. Cherie was born in LaPorte, Indiana on September 20th, 1950 to WWII veteran, Leo Jacobs and school teacher, Marjorie Jacobs. She grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan and attended Western Michigan University where she met her husband, Daniel. After college she set out to follow her passion for travel, working in the travel industry, and visiting five continents. She earned her masters degree from Roosevelt University, working as an ESL teacher after her daughters were born. Cherie is survived by her husband, Daniel Hands, her two daughters, Christine and Melissa Hands, and her sister, Patricia Jacobs. Memorial Visitation 10:30am until time of Memorial Mass 11:30am Friday, January 19th at Notre Dame Parish at 64 Norfolk Ave., Clarendon Hills, Illinois.
