Simone Tieri  age 89, of Western Springs, formerly of Chicago. Beloved wife of Lawrence R. “Uncle Larry” Tieri; loving aunt of Linda (Jerry) Hutter, Lori (John) Iaconi and David Templin of Kewadin, MI; cherished great-aunt of EmmaLee Hutter; also survived by two sisters in France. Simone studied in England to become a dedicated nurse and was the first female nurse ever to participate in the very first heart transplant surgery at the University of Chicago Hospital. A visitation will be held on Thursday March 8, from 3 until 8pm at Hallowell & James Funeral Home 1025 W. 55^th St., Countryside, where a prayer service will be held that evening at 7pm.
