Richard R. Potokar age 79, of Western Springs. Veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves. Beloved husband of Jeanne A. (nee Russell); devoted father of Kelly (Chris) Andersen, Tracey (Tony) Vuksinic and Megan (Matt) Yena; cherished grandfather of Scott, Eric (Kelsey) and Carly Andersen, Madisyn, Sydney and AJ Vuksinic and William and Clare Yena; dear brother of the late Betty Ross; loved uncle of many. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 28, from 3 until 8pm at Hallowell & James Funeral Home 1025 W.55th St., Countryside. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 29, from 9:30am until time of prayers beginning at 10:45am and will proceed to St. John of the Cross Church in Western Springs for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:15am. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago would be appreciated. I am truly sorry to hear of Dick’s passing. We will always remember all the times we ran into Dick and Jeanne at Santiago’s. I had hoped to make it to the wake for visitation but am afraid I will not be able to. We will keep the family in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

So sorry to hear about Dick’s passing. Lorraine Oszakiewski was not able to attend due to illness. She has not been feeling well and the hot temperature would not be good for her health. She would tell me all about all the good times the many years she had worked for Dick. She told me ( her Daughter) that she would be praying for him and his family. May God be with his family always.
Just heard about Dick’s passing, very sorry for your loss. He was a great guy and we had lots of fun playing softball at Springdale Park. I thought I was a pretty good hitter, but Dick owned me from the mound….We laughed about it many times. May he rest in peace.
