Daniel Peter Sackett, 86, of Darien. Beloved husband of Mary. Loving father of Mary Ellen (Scott) Kasik, Daniel, Jr. (Lynda Miles) and Michael. Devoted grandfather of Dan Miles-Sackett, Allison (Camillo) Acevedo, David Miles-Sackett, Matthew and Jonathan Kasik. Cherished great-grandfather of Eliana and Aria Acevedo. Dear brother of Florence (late Robert) Albrecht and Vincent (Barbara) Sackett. Fond uncle of many. On behalf of the Dobry family I wish to extend our heart felt grief on the loss of Dan Sr. – “The Coach”! His fond memories will live on forever in our minds as they will in yours and any person who had the pleasure of meeting and knowing him.
Men like him do not seem to be common these days. He devoted his life to family, work, and community. My father was a swell guy, but unfortunately (due to work obligations) unable to fill the role your Dad/Husband more than adequately filled as a teacher, coach, and just a terrific role model. Please know the he was loved and respected by those of us who had the honor of knowing him. He was a good man. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to learn of Dan’s passing. Spent a few Christmas Eve family dinners with him and his family. Good memories all the time, a real friendly man.
