  1. Our prayers and sympathy are with you Cheryl, Jeffery, Laura and Jason. We first met Cheryl and Dick when our children were all together at Sipley School. Dick and Cheryl were leaders of the Sipley Teacher Parent Association. Dick was the ultimate public servant holding the office of Trustee for 15 years. He had the distinguished reputation as someone who was always well prepared and asked excellent questions and made decisions solely on what was in the best interests of Woodridge. After choosing not to run after several terms of Office, Dick continued his public serve for years as a volunteer for the Woodridge Television Cable. Station. Woodridge has lost a dedicated public servant but even more so an ethical, kind, personable and loving human being. An out of trip vacation will preclude us from attending the visitation and funeral Mass.

  2. Im so sad to hear that Mr.Wood passed away. He was a great patient my fave i still haven’t finished stranger things! Rest easy buttercup! You will be missed by many!

    1. Thank you Amanda. You were his favorite home caregiver. You were so caring and made him smile. He loved the nickname buttercup you gave him.

  3. I met Dick in 1983, and had the pleasure of working with him when he was a Village Board member. I had great respect for him personally and professionally. He was such a genuine person. He was an excellent public official of the highest order. He was always well prepared at every endeavor. Our conversations were often filled with humor between guys , he from New York, and me from Arkansas. I will particularly cherish the opportunity to speak with him several months ago and walk down memory lane. He was such a class act. The family is blessed for his presence in their lives.
