Irene Mucha, age 95, of Downers Grove. Beloved wife of the late Stanley. Loving mother of Christine (Walter) Loncala, Richard (Antonia) Mucha, Trudy (Thomas) Kelly and Ed (Carmen) Mucha. Devoted grandmother and great-grandmother to many. Cherished sister of Walter, Maria, Helena and Juliana. Irene was preceded in death by her parents Andreas and Wilhelmine Wilk and her siblings Hans, Edward, Stefan and Annie. Visitation 5-8 p.m. Wednesday February 6th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 301 75th St., Downers Grove. Prayer service will be held 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment private. I am so thankful to have been blessed with a such a beautiful great Gramma like you. From making French Toast to tomato rice soup, from our walks to Woolworth’s or to Zayre’s with your friend Sophia, to all the blankets & pillows you knitted for us and our children – I will forever keep them & will forever hold these memories close to me. You will be missed greatly.

I was not fortunate enough to meet Irene, but my good friend Chris is her daughter and Chris shared Irene with us in her conversations. Irene sounds like a wonderful woman. My best to all of you.
Irene we will miss you so much! Uncle Eddie, Titi Carmen, Natalie, and Zach you in my thoughts and prayers. I know Grandma Irene will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
I feel thankful for the opportunities to spend time with Irene. She was quite a treasure. Her friendship was a pleasure. I am very sorry to hear of her passing and offer my sincerest condolences to her family.
