Joseph L. Forgue, age 62, of Western Springs, lost his valiantly-fought battle with cancer on Thursday, February 7, 2019. He was the beloved husband of Cynthia Forgue for 31 years; loving father of Andrew; dear brother of Robert Forgue Jr., (Beth), Antoinette Grogan (Michael G), Colette Tracy (Michael A). Visitation on Monday, February 11, 2019 from 3 to 9 pm at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Funeral prayers on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 9:15 am, from the funeral home, to All Saints Episcopal Church, Western Springs. Service 10am. Interment at Clarendon Hills Cemetery. Donations in Joe’s memory to Hinsdale Wellness House or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital are appreciated.

There is so much about Joe that was right and good and positive, that it is hard to know where to begin.

First and foremost, he was a loving and supportive husband to his wife Cindy, and father to his son Andrew. Joe and Cindy were a tremendous couple and were inseparable. They had the kind of love, loyalty, trust, and complete support of each other, which is truly a precious thing. Joe was an excellent father to Andrew and taught him through loving example. He was so incredibly proud of his son.

Joe was also an exceptional son to Mom and Dad. He was always there for them, and exemplified the kind of love and support that went above and beyond what was expected of him. His father was his hero. He was generous and kind beyond measure. As a brother and uncle he was the “rock” of the family. He was always there to tell a joke and share laughter, but he was an amazing and empathetic listener as well, whenever he was needed. Joe was also a wonderful son-in-law and brother-in-law. He cherished his family, and had great love and respect for his in-laws

Joe had a tremendous love for celebration! His favorite thing to do was to go to dinner and a movie with Cindy on a Saturday night. He had a great passion for food and whenever he entertained, which was quite often, he would always cook the most delicious food or take people out to celebrate his birthday at the most amazing venues.

Finally, Joe had an exceptionally successful career with which he was proud of, but tremendously modest about. The real source of pride for Joe was in the amazing people that he met, and the wonderful relationships he shared with them. Joe meant so much to so many people, and he managed to touch the lives of everyone he met. This world will never be the same without dear Joe. Until we meet again, we love you and rest well.
