Melvin M. Sims, age 89, of Willow Springs; beloved husband of 67 years to Catherine, nee Filomendi; loving father of the late Melvin (Judy), Greg, Mark (Connie), Karen (David) Schmiege and Christian (Laura); cherished grandfather of Ryan (Brianne) Schmiege, Jessica (Michael) Lee, Alyssa Schmiege, Justin Sims, Shawn Bradford, Sara (Jesus) Chavez, and Elizabeth Sims; dear great-grandfather of nine. After dedicated service in both the U.S. Army and Marine Corps, Mel founded Sims Business Systems, where he served as its President and CEO for over 60 years.
