Josephine Cindric

It is with great sorrow to announce the passing of Josephine (Jo) Angeline Cindric, age 94, of La Grange, Illinois on December 30, 2019. 

A longtime La Grange resident, her legacy and impact is felt across generations as the mother of two daughters, grandmother of six grandchildren, and great-grandmother of two great grand children. A 30-year employee for Illinois Bell Telephone Company, Jo had worked as a telephone operator and an administrative assistant, and was at one time the president of the Telephone Pioneers, a philanthropic branch of the company.  She possessed a deep faith in God and was a lifelong parishioner of St Francis Xavier church in La Grange. Jo will be remembered as someone who enjoyed gardening, classical music, cooking and spending time with family and her many friends.

She is survived by two daughters: Pamela Davey (Jeff Davey), Cynthia Nelson (Bruce Nelson); six granddaughters: Amanda Davey, Micaela Lopardo (Matt Lopardo), Megan Kennedy, Kimberly Kareska (Lane Kareska), Laura Nieland (Kevin Nieland), Carolyn Davey; and two great grandsons Miles Lopardo and Bodie Kareska. 

Visitation 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 2 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. A procession to St. Francis Xavier Church of LaGrange will follow for 10 a.m. Mass. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Funeral info: (708) 352-6500
