James J. Svehla, age 92, of LaGrange; beloved husband of Patricia nee Schoeler for 65 years; loving father of James J. (Denise) Svehla, Scott (Linda) Svehla, Susan (Bob) Buckles, & the late Sandra (Michael) McClain; cherished grandfather of Drew & Audrey Buckles, Abby, Jake, & Zach McClain; also a dear grandfather to Leeanne Farnand, Megan White, and Patrick, Scott, & Michelle Raddatz & Tyvania Vanusettive; uncle, cousin, & friend of many.
Jim spent his 45 year career as a Designer at Electro-Motive Division (EMD). He was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs.
Visitation 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 9 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Family & friends will gather at St. Francis Xavier Church, 124 N.
