Alice L. Kubly

Alice Lee Kubly. Beloved wife, devoted mother, and cherished grandmother from Western Springs, IL passed away after a brief illness at age 82 on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 after living a full life.

Alice was born to Anton and Emily (nee Janda) Frantes, grew up in Berwyn, IL, graduated from Morton High School, and was Secretary to the Dean of Morton Junior College, Cicero, IL. She was married April 3, 1965 to Keith Kubly, and they enjoyed 55 wonderful years together and had three daughters. They lived in Berwyn and Western Springs, IL, except for 3 years in Taiwan, Republic of China. Besides being a wonderful mother and homemaker, she participated in starting and running their business for 13 years until retirement. Alice enjoyed spending time with family, traveling worldwide, cooking, sewing for herself and her daughters, playing Mahjong, doing a variety of crafts, and reading mystery novels. She was active in Church, Girl Scouts, Questers Petticoat Patriots #817, Questers County Line #624, Questers Pioneer Pairs #681, and Czech & Slovak American Genealogy Society of Illinois.

Alice is survived by her husband Keith, daughters, Heidi (David Jr.) Kitterman & Holli Kubly, and grandson, David Kitterman III. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws, daughter Amy Kay Kubly, and brother John Frantes. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Dale (Donna) Kubly and family, special friends Adrienne and Ronald Rott, and a host of cousins.

While Alice’s family grieves her passing, they are choosing to remember Alice in a way that honors her spirit. Her family invites you to join them in a celebration of her life to take place in late Spring, 2021.
