He was a great baseball coach and taught us many invaluable skills. He will be sorely missed, but take comfort in knowing that he raised 3 great men. We have made a donation in memory of Jack to the Alzheimer’s Association.

  12. Just received notice of Jack’s death today from the Fenwick Alumni. This has been a rough time for losing Fenwick classmates. Seems like I get the news of another loss every few weeks.

Jack and I were not good friends – more like acquaintances, although we did spend some time together. We graduated from Fenwick class of ’64 together; graduated from Loyola U. school of Bus. Amin. class of ’68 together; were inducted into the army together on the same day – 12/1/68; went to basic training together at Ft. Polk, LA; and, received our orders for permanent assignment on the same day. That’s when we split – he to the Netherlands, and me to an army depot in southern Illinois.

Saw Jack and spoke to him briefly at our Fenwick 50th reunion in 2014.

My heartfelt condolences to his family.

  13. I was so sorry to hear the news about Jack’s passing in the alumni email today. We grew up a few blocks apart in Elmwood Park and played sports together in the neighborhood from grammar school to Fenwick, Loyola and also the Alpha Delts.
Although we haven’t seen each other since the 25th reunion, I remember Jack fondly as one of my best childhood buddies. Great guy!
