Barbara Wzorek

Barbara Wzorek, age 95, passed away at the home of her son Andrew & wife Sharon on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020 in Mazon, IL. She was born in Ostrow, Poland to Michal and Franciszka (Wawrzyniak) Musiala. During WWII, she endured forced labor in Germany. She met and married Stanley in the relocation camp known as (UNRRA) United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration. She finally settled in Chicago, IL. Barbara was employed by Chas A. Stevens & Co. in the cashier’s office. Retiring in Downers Grove, she was a member of St. Mary of Gostyn Catholic Church and later Mazon Baptist Church. Barbara enjoyed cooking, entertaining, knitting, crochet and sewing, as well as going to the beach on her many trips to Florida. She is preceded in death by husband Stanley Frank. Survived by a loving family that includes her children: George (Karen) of Downers Grove, IL, Mary Drewry (Judson) of Lakeland, FL, Isabell Caputo (Philip) of Homer Glen, IL and Andrew (Sharon) of Mazon, IL. Barbara also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren and forty great-grandchildren. The family thanks all care givers from Joliet Hospice for their kind care. Visitation will be held at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 301-75th St., Downers Grove, on Wed., Dec. 30, 2020 from 9:30-11:30 am. Followed by a Funeral Mass held at St. Mary of Gostyn Catholic Church, 444 Wilson St., Downers Grove, IL at 12 noon.  Entombment will follow Mass at Resurrection Mausoleum, Justice, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lighthouse for the Blind, 206 Ave. D. NW, Winter Haven, FL 33881 or Joliet Area Community Hospice 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431.   2. Such a beautiful picture of Barbara. I am sure she liked it, because she was always very particular about her hair, etc. She was a very lovely lady and fun to be around. I used to pick her up for our luncheon date with two other friends at Gong Ho. She loved their food.

      So appreciate your coming to the funeral home. Yes mom was always very particular about her hair. And she loved getting together with her friends. Chinese food was her favorite.

  6. Barbara was a delightful lady who we always enjoyed seeing when she came to Lakeland. She will be missed. We are so sorry for your loss.
