Loretta A. Beinhoff, age 84, of Downers Grove. Beloved wife of the late David Beinhoff and former wife of the late James Hanson. Loving mother of seven children: Thomas Hanson, Phillip (Tami) Hanson, Nicolette (Gregory Klyczek) Hanson, Marie (Ron) Nolte, Michelle (late Timothy) Smith, Elizabeth (Daniel) Lorenty, and the late James Hanson. Devoted grandmother of 15 and great-grandmother of 5. Dear sister of Joanne (Robert) McAuley, Dorothy Zumer, the late Mary Zumer, the late Theresa Zumer, and the late Andy (Sally) Zumer.
Loretta was born on November 18, 1936 to the late Andrew and late Mary (Rupar) Zumer. She passed away at home surrounded by her children on January 12, 2021, after a brief battle with Covid-19. Loretta graduated from St. Stephens Catholic School in 1950, St. Ann High School in 1954, and then from the University of St. Francis in 1958. She later obtained her MBA from Northern Illinois University. Loretta was a math teacher in Bolingbrook until she retired at the age of 67. Loretta also taught Sunday school at her church. She loved children and teaching was her passion. Loretta also enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Dave, and spending time with her many children and grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered for her beautiful smile, encouraging words, and loving heart.
Visitation 3-9 p.m. Sunday, January 17th, at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 301 75th St., Downers Grove. Funeral service and interment on Monday, January 18th, will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated. Funeral info 630-964-6500.
