Thomas Patrick Mulvenna, age 81, of LaGrange passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on April 9th, 2021. Tom was the loving father of Kevin (Kelly), Margie (Kevin) Griffith, Brian (Holly), & Colleen (Dan) McAuliffe; proud grandfather of Joe & Emily; Mary Clare, Colin, & Finn; Alec & Tess; and Liam, Owen, & Maeve; dear brother of Helen (the late Frank) Van Duerm and Patricia (the late Irv) Pfeiffer. He was preceded in death by loving parents Alexander & Julia and siblings Julie (Rob), Molly (Phil), Chuck (Jeanne), Peggy (John), Alexander (Loretta), Teresa (John), John (Bonnie), & Jim (Dolores). Tom was the former husband of Donna Mulvenna, and they remained friends and partners in the raising of their children and grandchildren. He was a beloved brother-in-law and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Thomas attended St. Francis Xavier elementary, Fenwick High School, and Marquette University. Until his death, he continued to be a parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church and attended Mass regularly. Like his peers, he coached his kids and watched his grandkids flourish at St. Francis as well as Catholic schools in both Milwaukee, WI and South Bend, IN. His ten grandchildren were his greatest source of pride and the recipients of his unconditional love. Grandpa Tom’s bright blue eyes lit up at every mention of these special young men and women. Before his passing, Tom repeatedly expressed the love and appreciation he had for all of his family and very dear friends.

I’m glad I had the opportunity to meet Tom over the years. I knew he was a good man, father and grandfather too. We never got the opportunity to have our meatloaf bake-off but maybe we can when we meet up on the other side.
Sincere condolences to all family members and friends.
God bless you, Tom
Rest In Peace
Bill – I simply love meatloaf to the point of collecting recipes. I would love to try yours! Thanks!

Dear Cousin Tom!!! We were the same age, and growing up I remember his kindness and uplifting sense of humor as I spent vacations at Uncle Alex and Aunt julia’s wonderful home in LaGrange. I will pray for all of you during the stream and long after. Cherish your loving memories of your Dad and this very important time with your family. Love you so much. Noreen and Dave

Dear Donna, Rosemary and Family, I send my sympathy at your time of loss of Tom. I had the privelege of teaching at SFX and remember the Mulennas and Briskes like it was yesterday. You are a good family and now you pass on that goodness to your next generation. Tom was a likeable person and he was proud of his family. Now he can rest in God.
Sister Pat – Sister Ferdinand – You taught me to read. My first full book was “Ferdinand the Bull” and I loved and appreciate the influence you had in my early life. Why? Because I love to read!
Rest In Peace and God’s love, dear Uncle Tom. Janet and I send love and condolences to the whole family. We’re sorry we couldn’t be there with you, but we watched the Mass online. Wonderful tributes by Colin, Joe, and Liam—and great to hear Kevin’s song “May the Road Rise to Meet You.”
Condolences to all the Mulvennas on the passing of your father. He was a great one and part of lots of wonderful memories of Stone Ave (Mulvenna homes anchoring each end of the block!) and SFX. It was always a treat to run into him through the years.
Love to hear where you are and what you’re up to Marty – your name came up often these last few days.
I had the privilege of playing poker with Tom through the years. He had a unique sense of humor and was always a caring, special human being. He will be missed.
