Emily Catherine Halm

It is with great sadness we announce that Emily Catherine Halm, of Chicago IL, was taken from this place on June 24, 2021. She was only 24 years old. Born on February 7, 1997 to Jennifer (nee Dimoff) and Martin Halm in Hinsdale, IL, Emily was a gift to all that knew her.

She was beautiful and found beauty in everything around her. She was witty and funny, bringing laughter and joy to her friends and family. She was courageous, persevering and inspiring, as she bravely faced the challenges life brought to her while successfully nearing her graduation at the Aveda Institute. She was creative, talented and bold. But most of all, she was loved. Truly loved.

Emily was a loving and caring daughter to her parents Jennifer and Marty, and a cherished sister and best friend to her sister Sarah. Emily was the first grandchild to be welcomed into our family. She is also survived by her grandparents, John and Janet Dimoff and Susan Halm, her “Ami.”

She will be truly missed by her aunts and uncles: Jillian Dimoff, Julia Dimoff and Phil Arquette, Kevin and Grace Halm, Daniel and Amy Halm, T.C. and Michelle Halm, and all of her cousins who loved her dearly.

Emily was predeceased by her beloved paternal grandfather, Robert Halm, and her partner and soulmate Sean Bruske, who she loved immensely.

A celebration of life will be held 2 to 8pm, with words of remembrance being shared at 7pm, on Thursday, July 1st at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Funeral service and interment will be held privately. For further funeral information, contact the funeral home at 708-352-6500.
