James T. Granger

James T. Granger, “Jim” age 85 of La Grange passed away May 5, after a long battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (a blood cancer).He was a very loving husband to Deborah (nee Storck) for over 63 years. Loving father to Rebecca (Ronald) Fuqua, James S. Granger and Ruth (Scott Habenicht) Granger. Devoted grandfather to Ashley (Brett) Darst and Kevin (Brandi) Fuqua. Proud Great Grandfather to Brooke Darst. Brother to William (Virginia) Granger. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert (late Etta) Granger and his parents Robert and Caroline Granger.

Jim was a school teacher in School District 102 from 1963 until he retired in 1994. He taught Industrial Arts and Computers. Jim was an active longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church of La Grange for nearly 60 years. Jim loved his church, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family.

A Memorial Service will be held on July 10, 2021 at Grace Lutheran Church, 200 N. Catherine Ave, La Grange. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm, Service at 2:00 pm.

Memorials are being accepted by Grace Lutheran Church to update their online church services and communications.

    were students in your wonderful Grace Lutheran PreSchool and I fondly remember Jim being such a

  6. Our condolences to your family. We still have some of the projects Brian and Tiffany made under Jim’s direction at Park Jr. High School. Our children were also fortunate to be in Debbie’s pre-school class. Debbie and Jim touched the lives of so many children and were a positive influence. Thank you for giving so much to others though years. So sorry to hear about Jim’s death. He will be missed.
