Joan Gargano
Joan Gargano, age 83, left this world August 16, 2021. Joan was the beloved Daughter of Joseph and Jule Gargano; dear Sister to Joe Gargano; adored Auntie to Kate, Sean, Tommy, and Anne; and loved Great-Auntie to Shannon, Abbey, Claire, Delilah, Jaron, Lauren, Eoin, and Nora. Joan was an avid traveler with an amazing eye for all things fabulous. She loved good food and great wine enjoyed with close friends. While she had many chapters of her career and loves in her life, perhaps her favorite were the years spent with her long-time partner Freddie. She was fiercely independent and boldly opinionated on all things. Her outrageous barbs have created funny stories that will live on and bring a smile every time we think of her. She will be missed.
Family and friends will meet at St. Cletus Church, 600 W. 55th St., LaGrange on Saturday, August 21 for a 10 a.m. mass. Masks are required for everyone in attendance. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joan’s name to Order of Sons and Daughters of Italy Leone D’Oro Lodge #2700 are appreciated. The Chicos Ladies will be joining together to remember Joan on Monday, September 20 at 7 PM. We will meet at Wok n Fire in Burr Ridge across from the store that Joan worked at for many years. Come raise a glass to celebrate our coworker and friend, Joanie. 💌🥂
I was friends for 50 years. Since we met at our favorite company S@H Green Stamps.we shared many things together. I will miss her greatly. RIP
