Elizabeth “Betty” Waedt (nee Slubowski), 103, of Mayslake Village. Beloved wife of the late Alfred Waedt for a wonderful 54 years. Loving mother of Linda (Raymond) Evans and Sandra (Richard) Wilk. Devoted grandmother of David Evans, Dawn (Brent) Sinclair, Daniel (Anne Marie) Evans, Brent (Ginger) Wilk, and Brian (Andrea) Evans. Dear great-grandmother of 12. Fond aunt of many. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Kazimierz & Stella Slubowski, 1 sister and 5 brothers. Betty was loved by all.

Visitation 3 to 9pm Monday, September 13th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Chapel prayers 9:00am at the funeral home Tuesday, September 14th, processing to Mayslake Village Chapel, Oak Brook for 10:00am Mass. Memorials in Betty’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery to follow. For Further Info: 708-352-6500

    First, I want to extend my condolences regarding the passing of Betty. She was a joy to be around and to talk to and brightened the lives of those around her including myself.

    Thank you for allowing me and my wife to see her less than two weeks ago during our visit to Chicago. I’m glad I could make her laugh during our visit. She made me laugh too.

    I loved her so much. She was a joy to know.
