Eleanore K. Hainrihar, age 101, of Downers Grove. Beloved wife of the late Frank. Loving mother of Ron (Susan) and Gary (partner, Bonnie). Devoted grandmother of Meagan (Glenn) Powlas, Darren Hainrihar, Marissa (Chirag) Shah, Anna (Eldridge) Williams, and the late Taylor “T. J.” Hainrihar. Dear great-grandmother of Henry and Sheperd Powlas, Adalyn, Sienna and Noah Shah, Wellington and Wesley Williams. Fond sister of the late Joseph (late Catherine), the late Clar, and the late Jim (Kathy) Koukl. Dear aunt of many. Visitation 9:30am until Funeral Mass 10am Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Divine Savior Catholic Church, Downers Grove. Private entombment Christ the King Mausoleum at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to A. S. P. C. A. appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Hallowell & James Funeral Home, Downers Grove, Illinois at 630/964-6500.

  1. We’ll always remember Eleanore’s sunny smile. Many fond memories of family Christmas Eve’s together. Eleanore and Frank were a fun couple who enjoyed a well lived life. Always liked being around them. Our sympathy to all.

  2. She was a lovely lady. We lived next door to her and Frank in Downers Grove for 11 years. Always thought of them as surrogate Grandparents to my sons. Shared many fun times. Heartfelt condolences to you.

  3. Working at Vineyard Assisted Living I got to know Ellie very well. She always made me smile and always knew exactly what to say to make your day better. Alot of people knew but Ellie was my person. She was my favorite resident and we had a special bond. We always said “Hello sunshine” when we saw each other and she would always say “You are the best one” and always give me a hug before I left for the day.
    My heart goes out to the family. And just know that Ellie touched alot of lives and made alot of people smile! My prayers and peace are sent to the family! 💛💛💛

  5. I always loved Eleanore’s spunk and energy. (I didn’t always need the pinching of my sides..haha; but I always looked forward to my new pair of socks every Christmas from her 🙂 alongside something special from Frank’s woodshop 😉
    She will definitely be missed. My thoughts are with you all. -Elizabeth
