  1. Mrs. Augustine was my 1st grade teacher at Highlands Elementary. I simply adored her and still, at 46, remember many of the fun things we did in her class like homophone witch/which, sewing paper pumpkins, around the world and SRA’s. I had the pleasure to sit down for pie with Mrs. Augustine about 5 years ago and tell her that I was pursuing a career in teaching after raising my 3 boys. After our lovely conversation, she mailed me a note that I still carry in my bag each day. It encouraged me to follow that dream to be a teacher and highlighted some qualities she saw and remembered in me, all these years later. I’m so grateful for who she was to me as a child and the joy of teaching she imparted to me as an adult. She made a lasting impression on this teacher and I’m forever grateful.

  2. Mrs. Augustine was the ideal teacher! I know her from her influence on several of my children and as a member of the school board at Highlands School. Mrs. Augustine encouraged each student, taught them the subjects, and support their individual learning. She will always be a model of a great teacher.

She was also very proud of her family; a faithful church member and beloved wife. I am so thankful that we knew her.

  4. Corrinne was always interesting to talk with, and full of plans and ideas. My sympathy on your great loss.
