Dr. Lasca Ann Hospers

May 24, 1926 – March 13, 2022

Dr. Lasca Ann Hospers of Bolingbrook, Illinois, passed away March 13, 2022, at the age of 95. She grew up in Western Springs, Illinois. Her parents were Dr. Anthony Hospers and Lasca Crispin Hospers. She attended Oberlin College on a scholarship where she studied pre-med and religion, and practiced archery. She also studied Chinese in the hope of becoming a missionary, but the plans were curtailed due to WWII. She met and married Emanuel M. Bogdanove while working in Detroit Michigan. She continued her studies, receiving a master’s degree from the University of Iowa, and a PhD in Physiology from the University of Buffalo New York. After graduation, she worked at Miles Labs in Elkhart Indiana. In 1959 she moved to Oak Park, Illinois and taught at Chicago Medical School. She later taught at Benedictine University, and National Chiropractic College before moving to Iowa to teach while earning a Chiropractic degree at Palmer Chiropractic College. She then moved to the Atlanta area where she taught at Life College and started a Chiropractic practice. She was one of the chiropractors chosen to treat athletes at the 1996 Olympics. She continued her practice until her retirement at age 80. After retirement, she returned to the Chicago area where she lived until her death. She had a multitude of interests including yoga, music, knitting and reading the Bible. She took an interest in everyone she met and will be missed for her smile and friendly hello. She was preceded in death by her brothers Dr. William Hospers and Richard Hospers. She is survived by her son, Dr. Arthur Bogdanove, of New Hope, MN, daughter, Sara Bogdanove of Lisle, IL, niece, April Faram, nephew, Robert Hospers, and niece Dr. Teresa Hospers.  Services and interment will be private.  Memorials in Dr. Hospers memory may be made to The Nature Conservancy.  Arrangements entrusted to Hallowell & James Funeral Home 630-964-6500
