Patricia Ann “Patt” Gallagher

Patricia Ann”Patt” Gallagher, 79, of Chicago passed away at 8:49 am on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at her home in Chicago.

Patt was born February 13, 1943, in Chicago, the daughter of Edward and Viola Green, and sister of Holly (Fred) Wolforth. She married Kenneth M. Gallagher on October 3, 1964, in Chicago.

Patt was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; four children Patricia (Brian) Cunningham of New Lenox, IL: Colleen (Karl Kocher) Kramer of Flossmoor, IL; Kenneth (Erica) Gallagher of LaGrange, IL; and Kelly (Dan Arnett) Gallagher of Evanston, IL; eleven grandchildren Brianna and Rebecca Kramer, Anne and Ellen Cunningham, Zoey, Rory, and Finn Gallagher, India, Carter, and Grant Aaron, and Dylan Arnett; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Patt’s professional life led her to create a pathway for women in the electrical and lighting industry.  In 1986 she founded Evergreen Supply Co – the first woman-owned electrical supply business in the State of Illinois.  Ten years later, her passions led her to open a second business – EverLights – giving Illinois their first lamp recycling company. Patt was recognized in 2001 with Governor Ryan’s Business Owner of the Year Award.  Her most prized honor was to be named the first woman Big Shillelagh by The Electrical Association’s St. Paddy’s Day Luncheon Society in 2007.

Best known for her bubbly presence, warm smile, and unbounded kindness, she felt best when making others feel special and appreciated.  A strong and enduring matriarch, she loved to bring family together to enjoy a moment and a home cooked Italian meal.

Family will receive friends from 2-8pm on Friday August 26, 2022 at the Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th Street in Countryside, IL. Funeral Mass will be at 11 am on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at St. John of the Cross Church, 5005 Wolf Road in Western Springs, IL. A luncheon will follow at LaGrange Country Club, 620 S. Brainard LaGrange, IL.
