Grace E. McNamara

1930-2022

Grace E. “Mickey” McNamara (nee Hayes), age 92, of Hodgkins, IL, at rest September 11, 2022 at Meadowbrook Manor, La Grange, IL.

Born March 13, 1930, in Oak Park, IL to J. Emmett and Edna (Gogerty) Hayes.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Richard McNamara, two sisters, Patricia Kerns and Janine Hayes, and three rescue dogs; treasured mother of Kathleen (John) Lonergan and David (Shelly) McNamara, loving grandmother of Evan Lonergan, fond aunt and great-aunt to many, and sister to Kenneth and Raymond Hayes.

Grace was a former Girl Scout troop leader and library volunteer at St. Giles School in Oak Park, and an active participant with the Irish Children’s Fund, having hosted many children from Northern Ireland over the course of several summers. She loved oil painting, crafts, and animals, and was a supporter of many charities.

Visitation Friday, September 16^th from 3-9 pm at Hallowell and James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55^th Street, Countryside, IL.  Service at the funeral home at 10:00 am Saturday, September 17^th, with interment to follow at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Naperville, IL, with guests meeting at the cemetery.
