Jerome S. Matuch Sr., age 85, of Countryside. Beloved husband of the late Ruth; Loving father of Theresa Matuch and Jerome Matuch Jr.; Cherished grandfather of Cassandra and Anastasia Hite, and Damian Flores. Fond uncle and friend of many.

He served as member and service chaplain for the American Legion for over 30 years.

Jerome was an employee with General Motors for over three decades. He did a lot of photography and volunteering for United Way charity organization.

He enjoyed singing with the choir at St. Cletus Church and received the Father Gallagher Award from St. Cletus in 2018.

When Jerome was younger, he enjoyed photography, boy scouts, little league baseball, and participating in 5ks of running and swimming.

Jerome enjoyed watching older movies and cartoons such as Bozo the Clown and Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood.

He enjoyed spending time with the family dog, Bosley, and sharing popcorn with him.

Visitation 4 to 8pm on Tuesday, November 29th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Chapel prayers 9:15am on Wednesday, November 30th from the funeral home to 10am Mass at St. Cletus Church, LaGrange. Interment private.
