  6. My condolences to Judge Castiglione’s family – I had the pleasure of appearing before the Judge many times in Cook County Juvenile Court in the late 1990s when I was in private practice, when he gave me much constructive criticism and straight advice. Judge Castiglione served the families of Cook County exceedingly well with his efficiently run courtroom and his honest decisions. – Assistant State’s Attorney John A. Castaneda

  9. Dear barbara and family,

First of all, Barbara, Frank adored you. As someone who met Frank in 1995 while on the campaign trail, to the last time we communicated, I heard how great you were. Frank was a member of the associate judge class of 1997 and I am its unofficial leader. Frank was by far the nicest person in our class. We are all terribly sad to lose him. May his memory be for a blessing. (Judge) Lainie Berger (Ret)

  12. Barb and Family – Please accept my condolences on your terrible loss. It’s hard to believe it’s been almost 40 years since I first met Frank when I got assigned to the 5th District SAO. He was very helpful in letting me know the players and culture of that very interesting place. He assisted me when I ran for judge and hopefully I was able to return the favor enough in his becoming a judge as well. In addition to his great legal and judicial skills he was one of the nicest people you could ever want to meet. I am honored to have had him as a friend. Tom Davy

  13. Deepest condolences to the family and friends of Frank. Our service on the bench overlapped for many years and I remember Frank at many Advocates Society’s Judges’ Nights and Judicial Educational Conferences. I always found him to very personable, his love of his family was very apparent, and he was proud of his Italian heritage. He also enjoyed his service as a judge. May all who knew Frank be comforted by the happy memories they have of him.

    Requiesce In Pace Frank.

  14. I had the good fortune to meet Frank early on in the SAO close to forty years ago. Frank later joined me on the bench and as President of the Justinian Society of Lawyers in 2013, I had the great pleasure to name Frank to the Executive Committee as a judicial member before he retired from the Circuit Cook. A great smile and a great soul. My condolences to Franks family.

  19. Frank was a gift to me. A true Renaissance man. He changed me in ways that I never acknowledged and actually only in a good way.

The only guy I have ever known who’s middle name was Blase….
Truly a one of a kind man.

  20. It was my good fortune to have been Frank’s next door neighbor when we were both assigned to the Child Protection Division and then we would run into each other at our annual judges’ reunions. I loved talking to Frank. He was upbeat and uplifting. From our conversations, I learned how much he adored his family and how proud he was of each of its members. Along with many, many others, I will miss having him in this world, but I’m sure he’s entertaining all he meets in another. Heartfelt sympathy to his entire family and other loved ones.
