Diana O. Whitton

Diana O. Whitton, 86, of Western Springs, beloved wife of the late Robert A. Whitton, who loved her more than she knew. Survived by her adopted family, Betsy and Katrina “Scout” Pasquinelli. Preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Jean Day.
Diana, a street smart kid raised in Bridgeport. A force to be reckoned with. She was highly political and a fierce defender of democracy, our constitution and our bill of rights. Both she and her husband were philanthropic ranging from the Sierra club, the Audubon Society to The College of DuPage (specifically for their Jazz). She was a prolific writer and storyteller. Her most recounted stories, besides growing up in Bridgeport, were her tales of her and her husband’s 30 plus years working for R.R.Donnelly. After Robert, that was the second love of her life. She would always say that we will never experience the camaraderie, socialization and friendships that the company continuously and generously fostered. She loved jazz, the radio, singing, writing on a typewriter, children, following politics, the playground across the street and most especially her husband Robert. She will be missed.
