Sister Laurina Kahne, C. S. J., age 89, Beloved Member of The Congregation of St. Joseph, celebrating 70 years of Religious Life.  Sister Laurina was born on June 20, 1933 in Chicago, IL to Millard C. Kahne and Lauretta Blattner.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings: Lauretta Grady, Millard, Bernard, Leonard and Richard Kahne.  She is survived by sisters: Joyce (Ignacio) Rodriguez and Rita (Robert ) Mischler, as well as many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews.  Sister Laurina earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History from DePaul University, and her Master’s of Religious Education degree at Mundelein College.  She taught elementary and high school for 26 years at: Our Lady of Bethlehem, LaGrange Park, IL, St. Anthony, Chicago, IL, St. Cletus, LaGrange, IL, St. Francis Xavier, LaGrange, IL, St. Margaret Mary, Chicago, IL, St. Mary, West Chicago, IL and Riverside, IL, St. Victor, Calumet City, IL, and St. Paul High School, Chicago, IL.  She also worked in Hispanic Ministry at St. Cletus, LaGrange, IL, and St. Alexis, Bensenville, IL and through the Joliet Diocesan Office of Hispanic Ministry for 30 years.
