Billie DeBruin
Edna Mae (Billie) DeBruin, 97, of Downers Grove, IL passed away on May 14, 2023 with her family at her side. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, J. Donald DeBruin.
She is survived by her three children, Don DeBruin (Mary Ann) of Oak Park, Jeanne Mullen of Chicago and David DeBruin (Elizabeth Taylor) of Maryland; six grandchildren: Jessica DeBruin (John W. Lee), Daniel DeBruin (Ellen), Benjamin DeBruin (Jake Fenske), Samuel DeBruin (Holly), Joseph DeBruin and William DeBruin. She is also survived by six loving great-grandchildren: Samantha, Matthew and Aimee Lee, Toby and Miles DeBruin, and her namesake Billie (Lilian) DeBruin.
Billie was a longtime resident of Downers Grove, raising her family there. For many years, she volunteered at Good Samaritan Hospital and was very active in St. Mary of Gostyn Parish. Billie was the loving and beloved family matriarch; very skilled at bridge, gifted at growing orchids, loved to read, interested in international travel. Billie was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.
Her life will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 10am. The Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary of Gostyn Catholic Church in Downers Grove, IL.

Dear Don, Jean and David,
I’m so sorry about your Mothers passing. She and your Dad were such close friends with my parents. They loved playing bridge together. They were two of the kindest most generous people I knew. When my father became sick and died they did so much for my mother: grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions and so many other favors.
My brothers and I will never forget their kindness to our family.
