Donna Gail Arvanites, age 81, of Northbrook and formerly of LaGrange; beloved wife of the late John Arthur Arvanites; loving mother of Timothy (Kim) and Matthew (Sarah); cherished grandmother of John, Justin, Ava, Chase, & Jake; dear sister of Roger (Betty) Herrick & the late Lon (Diane) Herrick; aunt of many.

Donna was one of my best friends in high school and college, we shared many things, including a love of learning. We both became teachers and enjoyed getting together at reunions. My husband bonded with John at these reunions and they shared a few stories and more than a drink or two at the bar at these Augusta reunions. I felt bad when John died but had never been able to get any communication about her after that, although I tried. I extend my sympathy to her 2 sons of whom she spoke very proudly, and to her grandchildren. Alzheimer’s is difficult for family members to deal with. Remember the good years snd her love for you.
