Jesse Erasmo Hernandez, age 74, of Countryside. Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, David and Teresa Hernandez and grandmother, Maria “Bia” Hernandez. Beloved husband of Yolanda Hernandez for a wonderful 57 years. Loving father of Sandra (JR) Favela, Cynthia (Marco) Gutierrez, Jesse Hernandez, Jr and Jaime Hernandez. Devoted grandfather of Jacklyn, Gabriel, Tony, Teresa, Jake, Cecily, Jamala, Marky, Karina, David, Christian, Lydia and Leslie. Dear great-grandfather of JD, Deangelo, Isiah, Little Tony, Vinny, Valentina, Vivian, Violet, Penelope, Catalina, Orlando and Ally. Cherished brother of Hilda, David, Sonia, Leticia, Juan and Marcos. Dear brother-in-law of Ralph, Maryann and Estella. Fond uncle, cousin, and nephew of many. Jesse will be fondly remembered by his “favorite daughter-in-law,” Angie.
Jesse will be remembered for his love of family. He will be deeply missed.
Visitation 3 to 9pm Thursday, September 14th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th Street, Countryside. Chapel prayers 9:00am from the funeral home to 10am Mass at St. Cletus Church, LaGrange on Friday, September 15th. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Justice. My dear Jesse, I won’t call you brother in law, because you are more like a Brother. I will cherish my last memory of seeing you with a great big smile surrounded by the love of your family. My fondest memories of you are when my Mom, and Dad, your Dad and Bea, Mary and I, were driving from town to town looking for a priest to marry two young 16-17 year old kids in love. Your hard work as a young man to support your family were the traits of a loving and caring father, and husband. Your presense will truly be missed by your whole family.
