Rokavec, of LaGrange; beloved husband of Marilyn (née Harris); loving father of Sue Marias & Sandy (Bob) Fotsch; son of the late John & Angeline Rokavec; proud grandfather of Joe (Kristen) Marias, Lindsay Marias (Tyler Johnson), Brittany (Matt) Gulledge, Lauren Marias (Henry Konker), Candice (Taylor) Penley, Jaclyn (Stephen) Mincone, & Lauren (Jordon) Jellicorse; dear great-grandfather of Allison & Jack Gulledge, Harlow & Hunter Marias, Ava Grace & Kylie Rae Penley, Adley Jellicorse, baby boy due in Nov., 2023 to Lauren & Jordon, and a baby girl due in Dec., 2023 to Lauren & Henry; brother of the late Angeline (the late John Hode, the late Ray Przybylski), the late Edward (Joan), & the late Robert (Judy) Rokavec, Sr.; brother-in-law of Lorraine (the late Ray Soukup, the late Frank Paciga); dear uncle of Richard (Debbie) Hode, Jack (Vickie) Hode, Pamela (Richard) Graham, Michelle Rokavec, Lynette Chmelik, & Robert (Sue) Rokavec, Jr.

John grew up in a musical, singing Slovenian family of six. The family belonged to a Slovenian Club where John was an active member in plays. He attended concerts, dances, and sang in the Slovenian Men’s Chorus.

John served in the Illinois National Guard. He was previously self-employed in a Wholesale Meat Distributor business.

John was an active member of St. Francis Xavier Parish, and was a past president of the Holy Name Society there. His family is so grateful to have had him in their lives.

Visitation 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass, 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 23 at St. Francis Xavier Church, 124 N. Spring Ave., LaGrange. Military Honors will take place directly following Mass.
