Jan was raised in Willow Springs, IL. She attended Trinity High School and Marquette University. She was a talented writer and especially loved poetry. She was the long-time editor of the “Village Vagaries” poetry column in the Hinsdale Doings Newspaper. She was witty and had a wonderful sense of humor and even sold jokes in the 70s to Phyllis Diller and Joan Rivers.
She and Don raised their family in the Golfview Hills neighborhood in Hinsdale, where she was an active member of the Women’s Club, Writers’ Group, and Readers’ Group. She loved all types of games and puzzles and was a lifelong Cubs fan who always enjoyed the ride no matter the outcome – A philosophy by which she lived.
