Frances M. Francsis

Frances M. Francsis, age 93, of Mt. Prospect, IL; beloved wife of the late Ted Francsis; loving mother of Ted (Rose) Francsis, Ken (Rosemary) Francsis, & Kathy (Jerry) Moran; proud grandmother of Ashley (Raj Seshadri) Francsis, Matt (Erin) Francsis, Kyle Francsis, Meredith (Gordon) Oliver, Sean Francsis, Cara (Pete) Rogers, Kellyn (Hannie Ali) Moran, Emily (Kevin) Berg, & Margaret Moran; great-grandmother of 11; dear sister of Mae (the late Sam) LaSusa; pre-deceased by siblings Joseph Mauro, Santa (Dave) Lentsch, Carmella (John) Schmidt, & Angeline (Jack) Laubinger; dear aunt, cousin, & friend of many.

Frances learned from her own parents, Angelina and Frank Mauro, the value of a loving family.  She dedicated herself to filling her own home with love, laughter and cream puffs. Ted, her beloved husband of 51 years, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her source of tremendous pride.  She made every birthday, holiday and personal achievement more memorable with her creative talents and delicious, plentiful meals. Gatherings with her sisters always held a special place in her heart.  To the delight of her extended family, encompassing sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins, she organized Christmas parties for many years.

Fran was also a woman of many talents.  A skilled seamstress, she often made clothing for herself and family members.  Fran’s annual handmade Christmas ornaments and matching flannel pajamas for all nine of her grandchildren were eagerly anticipated and treasured still.

Having spent most of her married life raising her family in Mount Prospect, Frances, with her constant smile and generous spirit, made life-long friends with many of her neighbors. Visitors to her home, whether family, friend or neighbor, never left without some thoughtful gift or delicious treat.

Love of family and friends is Fran’s lasting legacy.  We will miss her dearly.

  1. Fran was on of the first people I met when I began volunteering at Harvester Place. Immediately I liked her and looked forward to seeing her each time I came. She was always willing to participate in any of the activities I was doing. I think Cooking Club was by far her favorite! She loved to tell stories of all meals she prepared for her family over the years. She was also a very active participant in our “Chat Group” and shared so many great stories about Ted and their lives and of course her children and grandchildren. I loved how she knew words to soooo many songs and sang them all! I always enjoyed the one on one time I had with her on the days when I painted nails. Fran had some great stories! Even in her decline I would always be sure to stop and say hello and although she could no longer fully express herself she would manage a smile or just give me nod. My deepest sympathy and prayers are with you Kathy and Ken (who I had the pleasure of seeing most often) and to your entire family. So grateful I got to know Fran. God Bless her soul and may she rest in peace.

  2. She was a beautiful woman with so much love. I miss her smile already. Thank you for letting me part of her life. RIP “Fran, Fran” and enjoy twirling in heaven. ❤️
