Eileen M. “Mickie” Marchetti, age 75, of Countryside. Beloved wife of the late Ivo; loving mother of Brian (Katherine) and Jack (Erin); cherished grandmother of Emily and Molly; fond sister of Kathleen (the late Dr. Henry Terone), Thomas (the late Antoinetta) O’Malley, and William (Marge) O’Malley; loving godmother of Mary O’Malley and cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Eileen ‘Mickie’ Marchetti was born to parents Bernard and Marguerite O’Malley and grew up in the Brighton Park neighborhood of Chicago. She attended St. Agnes Grammar School and Saint Augustine High School. After graduating, she started a ten-year career with the FBI. She and Ivo Marchetti married in 1973. They soon moved to Pilsen when Ivo opened Il Vicinato, a successful Italian restaurant. She kept her home filled with love and shamrocks. A generous woman who religiously donated to St. Jude’s Hospital, Mickie always had the time to offer her help to anyone in need. The world lost one of its kindest hearts. She will be forever loved and missed.
