William Robert de Jonge, age 76, of LaGrange, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on March 15. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Yates); loving father of Ryan; cherished son of the late William and LaVerne de Jonge; devoted son-in-law of Joseph and Nancy Yates; fond brother-in-law of Jo Ann (Paul) Murphy, Judith (Dean) Frampton, and Michael (Marisa) Yates. Dearest uncle, cousin and friend of many.
Visitation 5 to 8pm on Wednesday, March 20 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Chapel prayers 10:15am Thursday, March 21 from the funeral home to St. Francis Xavier Church, LaGrange for an 11am Funeral Mass. Interment will take place privately.

So very sorry to hear. I met William when my parents moved back to the area and he was our real estate agent. He was so kind and patient when trying to find a house for them.

Great memories of our adventures skiing, sailing and general carousing. Thank goodness they didn’t have cell phone with cameras back then. We made it through to our next phase of family life and thank God for our wonderful wives and families. I will continue to tell stories with your name involved.
