William Dudley, 81, of LaGrange, passed away on August 26, 2024. Born in Chicago on September 22, 1942, Bill was raised in Evergreen Park and attended Mendel Catholic High School. After 2 years at University of Illinois’ Navy Pier campus, he graduated with a degree in accounting from Illinois in Urbana-Champaign in 1964. Bill worked for Sears, where he met his wife, Jacqueline Pozzie. They moved to LaGrange in 1968 and raised four children there. Bill was a proud Marine. He loved rooting for the Bears, Cubs, and Illini, but most of all loved being “Papa” to his grandchildren. Bill’s quick wit and infectious laughter will be missed. Bill often welcomed into his home friends, relatives, or acquaintances who needed a place to stay.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and Jackie, his wife of over 40 years. Survivors include his children David Dudley (Bernadette), Denise Koshay (Stephen), Donna Strong (Steve), and Rick Dudley (Jennifer Jones); 11 grandchildren: Emily, Hannah, Douglas, Devin, Josie, Steven, Billy, Ben, Ash, Mac, and Joy; loving partner Christine Nicosia; brother Joe; sister Lynn; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Memorial visitation 4 to 8pm Friday, August 30th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Family and friends are invited to meet at 10am Saturday, August 31st for a Memorial Mass at St. Cletus Church, 600 W. 55th St., LaGrange. Interment private.
