Alyce L. McFarland
Alyce L. McFarland, age 92, of Countryside, passed away peacefully on August 25th, 2024. Beloved mother of Mike. (Jan) and Craig and cherished friend of Linda Dishman; beloved sister of the late Kathleen Morrow, Marjorie Wehrkamp, and Richard Cordes; loving daughter of the late Maurice and Gertrude (nee Starks); fond aunt and friend of many, including the Buergel (Jan) family.
Alyce had a long career as a Benefits Representative of the Chicago Independent Truck Drivers Union. She was a long-time President of the Women’s Fellowship of the First Congregational Church of Berwyn, an important church board role. She was also a member of a fun-loving group of card-playing friends that will greatly miss her friendship. Her caregivers were a blessing to her the past several years and her family is greatly appreciative.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital are greatly appreciated.
Visitation 3 pm until time of Funeral Service by John Clark at 7 pm, on Tuesday, September 3rd at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Interment to take place privately. Funeral information: 708-352-6500
Condolences strong lady of faith every since I knew Alyce as a kid in the church I grew up in condolences to everyone and happy to having her in my life to show me Godly attributes in Jesus Christ name amen
