Timothy J. Scale, age 73, of Downers Grove.  Beloved husband of Laural Briggs for 43 years.  Loving father of Peter (Shannon) Scale and Mary (Blaise) Adams.  Devoted grandfather of Saoirse Adams.  Cherished brother of Paul (Bernice) Scale, Joseph (Maureen) Scale and Louis (Sheila O’Shaughnessy) Scale.   Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews.  Timothy was born May 27, 1951 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and grew up in that area until age 14 when his family moved to Brockville, Ontario.   He received his undergraduate degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Toronto in 1974 and received his doctorate in nuclear engineering from Northwestern University in 1980.  Timothy worked at Argonne National Laboratory for 5 years until changing careers to telecommunications engineering, working for AT&T Bell Laboratories and finished his career at Arris International.   Timothy enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing ice hockey, and spending quality time with his family and friends.  He also enjoyed video gaming, especially with his children.  A celebration of Timothy’s life will be held at 5 p.m. Monday October 21, 2024 at the Morton Arboretum, 4100 Route 53, Lisle, IL 60532.  Attendees can inform the gate house they are attending the event and will be directed to the visitor center.  Memorials in Timothy’s memory may be made to the Morton Arboretum or the Brookfield Zoo.  Arrangements entrusted to Hallowell & James Funeral Home 630-964-6500
